[Hiring] Senior BI Engineer – Architect at COVU

COVU is a venture-backed technology startup on a mission to modernize and digitalize independent insurance agencies and help everyday people better manage their risks and insurance in life by using AI and data analytics. We’re building an all-in-one technology solution to allow agents to operate more efficiently and deliver a better customer experience. Our founders’ backgrounds are in AI, Machine Learning, and data science—and we’ll be heavily investing in these areas to be an AI-first company.

We are looking for a Senior Business Intelligence Engineer to take on a key role in our team and company vision going forward. The BI Engineer will get an opportunity to work and build world-class data platforms utilizing advanced technologies. BI Engineer will also help build a foundation for BI platforms and set best practices.

Responsibilities:

• Own & operate our BI stack — architecture, security/governance, releases, performance.
• Design & build real-time dashboards and self-service reporting for exec, product, ops, and finance teams.
• Optimize data pipelines (AWS, SQL/NoSQL) and establish CI/CD for analytics workloads.
• Document & evangelize BI best practices, data definitions, and usage guidelines.
• Present insights clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Qualifications:

• 5+ yrs building and maintaining BI/analytics solutions on cloud data warehouses.
• Strong SQL + experience with AWS (QuickSight, Redshift/Glue/Lambda) and CI/CD tooling.
• Proven skill in modeling large relational & NoSQL datasets for performant dashboards.
• Proven track record applying data governance practices with strong emphasis on PII protection, while implementing agile DevOps practices.
• Bonus: Familiarity with P&C insurance data, Applied Epic, and Salesforce.
