Overview: Marketing and Communication Specialist (Volunteer)

The Marketing and Communication Specialist will play a crucial role in ensuring the success and visibility of Hlumasande Youth Centre. We are seeking a dynamic individual with a knack for content creation and a passion for brand positioning to foster a vibrant online community and enhance our organizational brand.

Key Responsibilities:

Brand Awareness and Positioning:
  • Develop a strong brand identity for Hlumasande Youth Centre.
  • Craft a compelling narrative about  Hlumasande Youth Centre’s mission, objectives, and offerings.
  • Highlight the benefits and impact of Hlumasande Youth Centre in the community.
Content Creation, Distribution, and Social Media Management:
  • Generate engaging content like blog posts, social media posts, newsletters, and videos that reflect the Hlumasande Youth Centre’s ethos.
  • Determine the most effective channels for content distribution.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive social media strategies and content plans.
  • Schedule content across various platforms and ensure peer proofing of content.
  • Design captivating social media graphics.
Partnership Development:
  • Identify potential partners, including educational institutions, community organizations, and industry associations.
  • Build and nurture relationships to promote the Hlumasande Youth Centre and secure resources and collaborations.
Community Engagement:
  • Engage with the broader community, stakeholders, and partners.
  • Facilitate discussions, organize events, and gather feedback for continuous improvement.
Performance Monitoring and Reporting:
  • Track marketing efforts, monitor engagement metrics, and refine strategies based on data insights.
  • Host and conduct social media reporting meetings.
Public Relations:
  • Manage Hlumasande Youth Centre’s public image, address media inquiries, and issue press releases.

Requirements:

  • Work experience in marketing and communication.
  • Proficiency in Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tik Tok, and LinkedIn.
  • Exceptional command of the English language and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Experience in social media strategy and graphic design (Canva proficiency is a plus).
  • Familiarity with Google Sheets, Google Docs, and presentation design.
  • Ability to create and analyse reports.
  • Can work independently.
  • Knowledge in Package Marketing.
