Job Description

Overview

The Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst is responsible for the day-to-day execution of the Report Development Lifecycle. S/he will serve as the organization’s front-line to identify and alert key stakeholders of gaps in our data integrity.

The Clinical Intelligence (CI) Analyst is responsible for the day-to-day execution of the Clinical Quality Measurement Lifecycle. S/he will serve as the organization’s front-line for validating and reporting clinical quality measures, both internally to the organization and to external organizations (e.g., health information exchanges, accountable care organizations, etc.).

Responsibilities

Process Execution
* Execute tasks in support of the Report Development Lifecycle/Clinical Quality Measurement Lifecycle, documenting work via a standardized process and centralized request repository.

* Collaborates with Business Intelligence team members to identify appropriate data sources and optimize report/dashboard design and execution.

* Participates in Data Management processes through documentation of and recommendations for the Report Directory and Metric Dictionary.

Data Integrity
* Communicates with stakeholders to interpret data requirements and validate fulfillment of requests for data, reports, and/or dashboards.

* Designs and produces effective reports and/or dashboards, meeting the organizational needs to drive data-based decisions.

* Describes basic patterns within data, engaging with other BI team members to develop suggested action plans.

Education
* Champion Data Stewardship, by working with data source owners and subject matter experts to regularly validate the completeness and accuracy of data.

* Assists with the advancement of Data and Analytics education, throughout the organization.

Compliance/Safety
* Responsible for reporting any safety-related incident in a timely fashion through the Midas/RDE tool; attends all safety-related training programs; performs work in a safe manner; monitors work environment for possible safety issues and ensures others are also performing work in a safe manner.

* Stays current and complies with state and federal regulations/statutes and company policies that impact the employee’s area of responsibility.

* If required for the position, ensures all certifications and/or licenses are up-to-date and valid prior to expiration dates.

* Completes all company mandatory modules and required job-specific training in the specified time frame.

Qualifications

Education
Business Intelligence Analyst
High School Diploma or GED and 8+ years of relevant experience- Required
or
Bachelor’s Degree, plus 3+ years of relevant experience- Required
Master’s Degree- Preferred
Clinical Intelligence Analyst
Bachelor’s Degree, plus 3+ years of relevant experience- Required
Master’s Degree- Preferred
Certification & Licensures
Business Intelligence Analyst
Relevant certifications, with a focus on SAP Business Objects, Tableau and Database Technologies- Preferred
Six Sigma/Lean certification- Preferred
Clinical Intelligence Analyst
Current unrestricted Arizona RN License- Required
Relevant certifications, with a focus on SAP Business Objects, Tableau and Database Technologies- Preferred
Six Sigma/Lean certification- Preferred
Experience
  • Proven mastery in Data Extraction techniques and Data Model creation (e.g., SQL, Cerner Discern/CCL, etc.)- Required
  • Advanced expertise with Data Analysis methods and concepts, as well as Data Analytics programs (e.g., Tableau, SAP Business Objects, Minitab, SPSS, SAS, etc.)- Required

Healthcare industry experience in at least one of the following: clinical quality, performance/productivity, finance, revenue cycle, IT or strategic development- Required
Healthcare is a rapidly changing environment and technology is integrated into almost all aspects of patient care. Computers and other electronic devices are utilized across the organization and throughout each department. Colleagues must have an understanding of computers, and competence in using computers and basic software programs.
