Job Description

Kaimetrix is seeking a skilled Data Warehouse Programmer to join our team on a remote basis for an IRS contract. This role involves transforming the existing Data Warehouse into a modern, standardized, and efficient solution, allowing data to be consumed at any time from anywhere. The successful candidate will work with highly secure and integrated systems across the Federal Government to serve data for consumption across several platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Warehouse Modernization: Lead the transformation of the existing Data Warehouse into a modern and efficient solution.
  • Data Integration: Work with secure and integrated systems to ensure seamless data consumption across various platforms.
  • Performance Optimization: Optimize data warehouse performance through indexing, partitioning, and query tuning.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with business analysts, data architects, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Security: Ensure data warehouse solutions comply with security standards and regulations.
  • Documentation: Document data warehouse processes, data models, and data flows for reference and training purposes.
  • Support and Maintenance: Maintain and support the data warehouse environment, troubleshooting and resolving issues to ensure data accuracy and availability.
  • Compliance: Adhere to IRS standards, regulations, and best practices for data security and privacy.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Master’s degree with at least 4 years of specialized experience or a Bachelor’s degree with at least 6 years of specialized experience in leading the modernization of Data Warehouses and Data Platforms.
  • Experience: 4 to 6 years of specialized experience based on education level.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in SQL and database management systems (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, DB2).
    • Experience with ETL tools (e.g., Informatica, Talend, SSIS).
    • Knowledge of data modeling techniques and tools (e.g., ER/Studio, ERwin).
    • Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and data analytics tools.
    • Experience with programming languages such as Python, Java, or similar.
  • Certifications: Preferred certifications include Amazon Web Services (AWS) Certified Data Analytics or Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Team Collaboration: Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Travel Requirements:

  • Travel may be required to various locations nationwide, including IRS Headquarters in Washington, DC, Enterprise Computing Centers (ECC) in Memphis, TN and Martinsburg, WV, and Florence, KY.
  • Specific tasks and subtasks related to Enterprise testing and Logistics support must be performed on-site in Florence, KY.
  • Data Center Support tasks must be performed on-site at the Martinsburg Enterprise Computing Center (ECC) in Kearneysville, WV, and Memphis ECC.

  • U.S. Citizen

Additional Requirements:

  • Drug testing will be required as a condition of employment.
  • Ability to pass an IRS background check
