[Hiring] Creative Marketing Manager at NEON

Job Overview

Job Description

Description

Manager, Creative Marketing

Position Overview

The Manager, Creative Marketing will help develop and execute distinctive creative campaigns for our slate of independent films across theatrical and VOD/SVOD releases.

Working closely with the Director of Creative Marketing, this role will help shape how films are positioned and brought to audiences from the first campaign idea through trailers, key art, digital AV, social content, and theatrical materials.

We’re looking for a highly creative, film-obsessed marketer with exceptional taste, strong instincts, and an appetite for ideas. The ideal candidate understands what makes a trailer work, what makes an image stop someone mid-scroll, and how a singular creative idea can become a campaign that gets people talking.

This is a hands-on role for someone who wants meaningful creative ownership, thrives on collaboration, and can move seamlessly between big-picture thinking and the details required to bring great work into the world.

Responsibilities

  • Help develop the creative idea and campaign approach for assigned films, identifying what makes each title distinctive and how to translate that into marketing that connects with audiences.
  • Partner closely with the Senior Director, Film Marketing & Creative Strategy to develop campaign concepts, positioning, creative briefs, and strategies across theatrical and VOD/SVOD releases.
  • Drive the day-to-day creative development of trailers, teasers, key art, digital AV, social content, and theatrical marketing materials, managing work from initial brief through final delivery.
  • Bring ideas to the table. Participate actively in creative brainstorms and identify unexpected, culturally relevant ways to build awareness, conversation, and excitement around our films.
  • Write sharp, compelling creative briefs and presentations that clearly articulate the campaign idea, audience opportunity, creative direction, and rationale behind the work.
  • Develop a strong point of view on creative work-in-progress and partner with the Sr. Director to give thoughtful, actionable feedback to editors, designers, agencies, and other creative partners.
  • Help prepare creative work for presentations to filmmakers, talent, and senior leadership, incorporating feedback while protecting the core idea and integrity of the campaign.
  • Manage day-to-day relationships with creative agencies, editors, designers, freelancers, and other external partners, helping inspire their strongest work while keeping projects on strategy, budget, and schedule.
  • Partner with Digital and Social teams to identify platform-native creative opportunities and help evolve campaign assets based on audience behavior, cultural conversation, and performance.
  • Collaborate closely with Publicity, Distribution, Post-Packageion, International, Packageion, and other cross-functional teams to build cohesive campaigns and proactively solve challenges.
  • Stay deeply engaged with film, entertainment, culture, creators, social platforms, and emerging creative trends, bringing relevant ideas and inspiration back to the team.
  • Manage multiple concurrent theatrical campaigns with strong judgment and attention to detail, maintaining clear timelines, budgets, approvals, and asset workflows without losing sight of the creative ambition behind the work.

This role will be based in either our New York, NY, or Los Angeles, CA, office with a hybrid 3-day in-office work arrangement and occasional travel between locations.

Our target salary range for this role is between $80,000 to $90,000. The actual starting salary within the range will depend on various factors, including location, experience, knowledge, skills and internal equity.

A note on the process: We’re committed to giving every candidate a fair shot, so please hold off on reaching out to us directly. To keep things equitable across the board, we won’t be able to respond to individual inquiries but if you’re the right fit, we’ll be in touch. Apply for this role:
