As a Cloud Database Administrator, you’ll join a high-impact R&D team that thrives on solving complex challenges and driving innovation. In this role, you’ll be responsible for the performance, reliability, and scalability of our cloud-based database infrastructure. You will work with DevOps teams and other cross-functional areas to design and maintain secure, high-availability environments that support mission-critical applications. From managing PostgreSQL clusters in AWS to implementing automation and monitoring solutions, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring our systems are secure, high-performing, and built to scale.
What You’ll Do:
- Administering database servers within AWS cloud-based environments
- Coordination and implementation of systems, software, and services
- Applying standards consistently for all upgrades, tracking problems, and managing resolutions
- Formulating recommendations and performing testing, change control, installation, integration, diagnostic analysis, and service restoration of the environment
- Creating and organizing system and procedure documentation
- Performing daily backups, tuning performance, updating security controls and policies, managing data access, overseeing configuration and patches, mitigating risks, administering change control, and automating AWS cloud processes
- Collaborating with product engineering to support, maintain, and design storage infrastructure for Nasdaq Verafin products
- Overseeing infrastructure-related projects
- Supporting best practices, implementation decisions, and ensuring stability and scalability of our database infrastructure
What We’re Looking For:
- A university degree or completion of a technical college program in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 3–5 years of relevant experience in database administration or a similar technical role
- Well-versed in relational database management systems
- Experienced with PostgreSQL/MySQL and AWS RDS
- Proficient with DevOps tools (Terraform, Jenkins, GitHub, Docker for CI/CD on AWS), operational monitoring, and alerting systems
- Strong experience with Linux in cloud-based environments
- Skilled in automation across various platforms
- Ability to adapt quickly to meet business needs
