Role Overview

Plasmidsaurus has grown fast: more labs, more people, more countries, and more scientists trusting us with their research. Our IT foundation has to keep pace. We need an IT Administrator who can keep our team productive, our devices and data secure, and our networks reliable wherever we operate. You’ll make sure our growth never outruns our security, so our labs can keep delivering results by sunrise.

What you’ll be doing

1. Security and Compliance

• Ensure continued SOC 2 compliance, including developing cybersecurity policies, preparing for audits, maintaining evidence, and addressing gaps.
• Proactively identify vulnerabilities, through both internal and third-party risk assessments, and mitigate security risks.

2. Systems and Device Administration

• Administer and maintain IT infrastructure, including servers, workstations, cloud environments, and mobile devices. Secure devices with endpoint protection.
• Manage user identity and access control systems.
• Oversee software updates, patch management, and system configurations to minimize vulnerabilities. Familiarity with RMM and MDM systems preferred.

3. Networking and Infrastructure

• Implement reliable, scalable networking solutions, including firewalls, switches, VPNs, and Wi-Fi access points, across our sequencing labs around the world.

   

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science, or relevant work experience
• 6+ years as an IT administrator at a high growth startup environment
• Experience with SOC 2 or ISO 27001
• Computer system administration for macOS, Windows, and Linux
• Google Workspace administration
• Experience with MDM/IdP platform (Rippling) and endpoint protection (SentinelOne)
• Experience configuring network infrastructure (preferably Mikrotik and pfSense) and server management for Linux-based on-prem compute environments
• Familiarity with cybersecurity and data security best practices, including ISMS frameworks
