📋 Description

• Maintain stable test, training, reporting, and production database environments • Provide on-call support and resolve issues for non-development database systems • Participate in all phases of database-related projects • Support application programmers with database tools, techniques, and efficient SQL • Plan, install, and implement programs, scripts, and tools for database administration and monitoring • Develop and maintain standards for monitoring system performance • Maintain backups of critical databases according to disaster recovery procedures • Stay current on new DBMS releases and exploit new functionality • Coordinate and perform database upgrades, installations, and testing • Support daily scheduled database production jobs • Perform table modifications, database sizing, security, and referential integrity administration • Devise database reorganization and tuning strategies for optimal performance • Recommend cost-effective technical solutions during project design and implementation • Prepare, execute, and document disaster recovery procedures in coordination with the Disaster Recovery team • Produce monthly reports on database growth and activity • Perform related duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• 3–5 years total DBA experience • 2+ years hands-on MS SQL Server experience • Working knowledge of MS SQL Server and SQL Server internals • SQL scripting, stored procedures, and triggers • Linux and Windows shell scripting and cron jobs for resource monitoring • Deploying and maintaining containerized applications • On-premises-to-cloud data flows • SSIS deployment • Network connectivity across multi-platform environments • Packageion support background in a 24×7 environment • Curiosity and willingness to learn new technologies • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills • Ability to work independently with limited supervision • Ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously • Ability to collaborate across disciplines and technical skill levels • Ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly, verbally and in writing • Tactful communication with department heads, managers, coworkers, and vendors • Local candidates only • PostgreSQL/Cockroach DB, Kafka/Flink, Sybase, KingswaySoft, and database administration certification are bonuses, not required
