Job Description

Who is Aiwyn and what do we do?

Aiwyn is the first complete platform for modern Accounting Firms. Backed by top-tier investors like Bessemer, KKR, and Revolution, we’re one of the fastest-growing scale-up SaaS companies in the world. We build category-defining technology, and we’re doing it with world-class people, processes, and products.

We work with the majority of the Top 500 firms in the country. We’re modernizing the software accounting firms rely on every day, replacing decades-old systems and brittle integrations with tools they can actually trust, and we have rare product-market fit in an industry that’s about to change permanently. We’re hiring a Software Engineer for Developer Experience on the Packageivity team. The job is to make every other engineer at Aiwyn measurably faster.

The role

Aiwyn engineering is going through the same shift the whole industry is going through. AI is writing the majority of the code, and the bottleneck has moved. Plan quality, review quality, test infrastructure, deploy speed, and the agent loops engineers build around themselves are now what decide whether the org keeps shipping or stalls out.

This role owns that. You’re the engineer who makes Claude Code, Cursor, agent-augmented review, and our internal harnesses actually work end-to-end at Aiwyn. You’ll do it with the bias of a working engineer who hates slow loops, not a tooling team that ships frameworks no one uses.

What good looks like

  • Engineers feel the difference. PR cycle time, time-to-first-deploy for new hires, and self-reported “this got out of my way” all move in the right direction. We have data and we’re acting on it.
  • Quality automation is doing real work. Agent-driven workflows for testing, review, and verification are part of the everyday loop, not an experiment. Engineers trust them.
  • Agent-augmented engineering is the default. Claude Code, Cursor, agent code review, agent QA. Every engineer has a workflow that uses these well, and the patterns and skills are checked into the repo to make that happen.
  • The internal AI dev tooling is real. Custom skills, evals for code quality, agent-driven scaffolding, automated migration tooling. You build the things that compress weeks into hours.
  • Agentic task execution is shipping real work. Agents pick up well-scoped bugs and small features and open PRs that humans review. The orchestration is yours to build and own.

What we’re looking for

  • DevEx, developer productivity, or platform engineering background. You’ve owned the loop before. You can describe the metrics you ran by, what was broken when you got there, and what specifically you did to move them.
  • Strong full-stack engineer. You’ve shipped real systems. You can sit down with the front-end team or the backend team and earn their trust on the technical merits. That’s how a DevEx engineer gets things actually adopted.
  • AI-native fluency, deeply. You’ve built workflows around Claude Code or comparable tools. You have opinions on prompt design, eval harnesses, agent orchestration, and the limits of current models. You can show what you’ve shipped, not just what you’ve used.
  • Empathy for the working engineer. You hate slow loops, broken environments, and the friction that quietly costs the team hours every week. You’ve fixed those problems before, and you’ll fix them here.
  • Bias to ship over bias to build a framework. You’d rather have one workflow that’s loved by ten engineers than a beautiful framework that two people use.
  • Strong communicator. You can write a doc that gets engineers excited about a new pattern, run a workshop without losing the room, and translate “your build is slow because…” into a fix proposal that engineering leadership greenlights.
  • Bonus: A track record of building AI-native engineering workflows that actually got adopted. Public writing, talks, or open-source contributions in the developer-tooling-meets-AI space.

What to expect

  • The chance to set the bar for AI-native engineering at a company that’s growing fast and willing to invest.
  • A direct, reflective leadership team that actively welcomes challenge and debate.
  • Real autonomy. You’ll have the latitude to set the standard, ship the tools, and push the practices.
  • Competitive compensation and meaningful equity.

Interview process

We’ll share a detailed interview plan with you on the intro call. The loop is designed to mirror the actual job: real artifacts to react to, conversations that look like the conversations you’d have on the team, and reference checks taken seriously. We’ll move quickly when there’s mutual fit.

Why Work at Aiwyn?

  • The big-picture value proposition of this role is simple: join us, and you’ll be paid competitively to have freedom in solving worthwhile, challenging problems alongside other A-players at a fast-growing SaaS startup led by an experienced and successful team with industry experience
  • AI-by-Default – you’ll have access to best-in-class AI tools and work in an environment that embraces an AI-by-default mindset, where curiosity and experimentation are part of how we operate
  • Remote-first organization
  • Competitive compensation and benefits
  • Stock options
  • 401(k) matching
  • Adventure Travel Stipend on each anniversary of your employment with Aiwyn
